Head to head
NuFACE TRINITY+ vs MINI+
The flagship has the attachments, the published output and the longer warranty. The compact one has the thing that actually decides outcomes, which is that people keep using it.

Capability
The attachment system is the real difference
The TRINITY+ is a handle. What it does depends entirely on what you attach to it.
- Facial Trainer - the standard twin spheres, for cheek, jaw and brow. This is the one in most kits.
- Effective Lip and Eye - smaller geometry for the orbital and perioral areas, which the large spheres cannot place precisely.
- Wrinkle Reducer - adds red LED. This attachment holds its own 510(k), K212947, under the wrinkle-reduction code rather than the facial-toning code. Filing separately for an accessory is the correct thing to do, and worth noting in a market where most brands do not.
Each is a separate purchase, and the full set costs more than the device. That is the honest criticism of the TRINITY+ and the reason the MINI+ is often better value for a first device.
What NuFACE publishes and does not
The output question
NuFACE publishes up to 340 microamps for the TRINITY+, with the Boost button adding 25 more. That is the most useful specification in this entire category, because almost nobody else publishes a current figure at all.
For the MINI+, NuFACE does not publish a directly comparable figure. It is understood to have a lower ceiling, and we are not going to invent a number for it. The practical consequence is that the MINI+ may need longer passes to do similar work, which eats into the convenience advantage a little.
One detail that favors the TRINITY+ on technique: the built-in skin sensor adjusts intensity to the area it is reading. That is a real engineering feature and it is the kind of thing that matters when the same device is used on a cheek and on a thin periorbital area.
The thing that decides it
Why adherence beats specification here
The protocol is five sessions a week for sixty days, then two or three a week indefinitely. Each session needs gel on, device worked across the face, gel off. That is a real demand on a real evening, every week, forever.
A device that lives in a drawer at 340 microamps delivers exactly as much as one that lives in a drawer at 200. The MINI+ exists because NuFACE understands this, and it is the device we recommend to anyone who has previously bought a skincare device and stopped using it. The realistic timeline.
In detail
Every pick, and why
Wins on capability
NuFACE TRINITY+
NuFACE · Best for someone already committed to the routine
Up to 340 microamps published, plus 25 from Boost. Three attachments including a red-LED Wrinkle Reducer with its own clearance (K212947). Two-year warranty. Clearance K201782.
The reference microcurrent device: swappable attachments, an app, a published microamp ceiling and the deepest clearance history in the category.
Specifications
| Output | Up to 340 microamps; the Boost button adds 25 microamps |
|---|---|
| Attachments | Facial Trainer, Effective Lip and Eye, Wrinkle Reducer (red LED) |
| Protocol | 5 times a week for 60 days, then 2-3 times a week |
| Warranty | 2 years |
| Clearance | K201782 device, K212947 Wrinkle Reducer attachment |
FDA clearance located
510(k) K201782 (NuFace Trinity Plus Device, cleared 22 January 2021, product code NFO - over-the-counter powered facial toning). The Wrinkle Reducer attachment carries its own clearance, K212947 (2 April 2022, product code OHS).
What works
- Publishes its actual microamp output, which most of this category refuses to do
- Two located clearances, one for the device and one for the LED attachment
- Two-year warranty is the longest here
What does not
- Attachments are sold separately and add up fast
- Needs conductive gel every session, which is a running cost
- The app is a convenience, not a reason to buy

Wins on adherence
NuFACE MINI+
NuFACE · Best for a first device, or a device that travels
Clearance K191672 in the same product code. Fixed spheres, no attachment system, and no separately published output figure. It is the one people actually keep using, and in this category that is not a small point.
The compact NuFACE: the same microcurrent family in a smaller body with fixed spheres and no attachment system.
Specifications
| Attachments | Fixed spheres; no interchangeable heads |
|---|---|
| Protocol | 5 times a week for 60 days, then 2-3 times a week |
| Clearance | K191672, 15 October 2019, product code NFO |
| Output | Lower ceiling than the TRINITY+; NuFACE does not publish a directly comparable figure |
FDA clearance located
510(k) K191672 (NuFACE Mini Device, cleared 15 October 2019, applicant Carol Cole Company dba NuFACE, product code NFO).
What works
- A located clearance in the same product code as the flagship
- Travel size, and the one people actually keep using
- Much lower entry cost than the TRINITY+
What does not
- No attachment system, so no eye and lip head and no red-light head
- Lower output ceiling and NuFACE does not publish the number
- Smaller spheres mean a longer session to cover the same face
Specifications from FDA 510(k) K191672; NuFACE product listing, checked 13 October 2026.
The decision
Who should buy which
- MINI+ for a first device, for travel, or if you are not yet certain you will do the protocol.
- TRINITY+ if you already use a MINI consistently, if you want the eye and lip attachment, or if the two-year warranty matters.
- Neither, yet if you have not read the contraindications. Implanted electrical devices are a hard no.
