How this site makes money, stated plainly

We are a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.

Every buy button here passes through our own redirect at `/go`, which adds our Amazon tracking tag (`jr-glowcurrent-20`) and sends you to the product listing. The redirect exists so that if we ever change retailer for a product, the link keeps working rather than breaking. It collects nothing about you beyond the click itself, which is recorded in our analytics as an anonymous event.

Every commercial link on this site carries `rel="sponsored nofollow"`, which is how Google asks publishers to mark paid links, and opens in a new tab. Links to manufacturer specification pages and to the FDA database are ordinary citations: they earn us nothing and are not marked as sponsored.

• No brand pays for placement. Nobody can buy a position in a roundup here, and nobody has offered.
• No brand sees copy before it publishes. Not for review, not for fact-checking, not for approval.
• No brand supplies us with product. We do not accept review units, because we do not test devices and accepting them would imply we do.
• Commission rate does not decide the ranking. Several pages here recommend the cheaper option, and several recommend not upgrading at all. If commission drove the rankings those pages would not exist.

Some sites in this category link to brand-direct stores, which often pay a higher commission. We do not, for a simple reason: we are not part of any brand-direct affiliate program, and we will not build a tracking link for a program we have not joined. Where a brand's own store is the better place to buy, we will say so in the copy and link it as a plain, non-earning link.

If that changes - if we join a program that is genuinely better for the buyer on price, stock or warranty - this page will say so and the links will change. Buyer-first beats commission, and we would rather write that down here where it can be held against us.

We do not publish prices in our copy. Prices in this category change constantly and a figure we wrote last month would mislead you today. Prices render only from a live data layer with a visible date stamp, and they expire automatically after 48 hours: if the feed stops, the numbers disappear and every button falls back to “Check price on Amazon”. The failure mode is silence, never a stale claim.

We use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages are read and which buy buttons are clicked. That is aggregate, anonymous traffic data - we cannot identify you from it and we do not try. Our privacy policy has the detail.
