Device review
NuFACE MINI+ review
The microcurrent device most people actually own. It is cleared, it is cheap by the standards of this category, and the number that would let you compare it with the flagship does not exist.

Specification
What you get
A compact two-sphere microcurrent device with three intensity levels, which NuFACE labels as modes rather than numbers: level one Instant Lift, level two Pro Toning, level three Skin Tightening. A short press changes level, a long press activates. The starter kit ships with the device, an Aqua Gel Activator, a cleansing brush and a USB charging cable; three of the six colorways also include a Silk Creme Activator.
The published routine is at least five minutes a day, five days a week, for the first sixty days, then two to three times a week to maintain. NuFACE states a two-year warranty and a sixty-day return window - the warranty matches the TRINITY+, which is more than most of this category offers at any price.

Output
The number that is missing
NuFACE is one of the few brands in this category that publishes a microamp figure at all: up to 340 microamps on the TRINITY+, with the Boost button adding 25. For the MINI+ it publishes nothing. The listings describe a lower ceiling without saying what the ceiling is.
That matters because the entire category is defined by magnitude. Microcurrent means current measured in millionths of an amp, below the threshold at which muscle contracts - and the difference between a device at the top of that range and one at the bottom is the difference between a treatment and a pleasant massage. How the magnitudes work explains why we keep returning to this. Without a figure, the honest position is that the MINI+ delivers less than the TRINITY+ by an amount NuFACE has chosen not to quantify.
The honest gap
What it gives up against the TRINITY+
- No attachment system. The fixed spheres cannot be swapped, so there is no Effective Lip and Eye head and no red-light Wrinkle Reducer. If the eye area is your reason for buying, that is the wrong device.
- Three fixed levels rather than app-set intensity. Simpler, and less room to work up as you get used to the sensation.
- Smaller spheres. They cover less face per pass, so the real session runs longer than the five-minute minimum suggests once you are treating both sides properly.
- No published output, as above.
- Gel is a running cost. The kit gel will not last the sixty days, and nothing works without it.
The full side-by-side, including who should ignore all of this and buy the cheaper device anyway, is on the TRINITY+ against MINI+ page.
In detail
Every pick, and why
The sensible entry point
NuFACE MINI+
NuFACE · Best for a first microcurrent device, or a travel second device
510(k) K191672, cleared 15 October 2019, applicant Carol Cole Company dba NuFACE, product code NFO. Three intensity levels, a published routine of at least five minutes a day, five days a week for sixty days, and a two-year warranty. What you give up against the TRINITY+ is the attachment system and any published microamp figure at all.
The compact NuFACE: the same microcurrent family in a smaller body with fixed spheres and no attachment system.

FDA clearance located
510(k) K191672 (NuFACE Mini Device, cleared 15 October 2019, applicant Carol Cole Company dba NuFACE, product code NFO).
What works
- A located clearance in the same product code as the flagship
- Travel size, and the one people actually keep using
- Much lower entry cost than the TRINITY+
What does not
- No attachment system, so no eye and lip head and no red-light head
- Lower output ceiling and NuFACE does not publish the number
- Smaller spheres mean a longer session to cover the same face

Running cost
The gel question, which decides whether it works at all
Dry skin is a poor conductor. Without a water-based conductive medium between the spheres and the skin, most of the current never crosses the barrier and what does concentrates unpleasantly at the contact points. The kit includes an Aqua Gel, and the brand would prefer you kept buying it.
You do not have to. Any water-based conductive gel with enough slip and enough staying power works on a device like this one, and the failure mode to avoid is oil: facial oils, balms and heavy moisturizers are insulators and produce no treatment at all. What the gel actually has to be, and what does not work.
Expectations
What results look like, honestly
There are two timelines in microcurrent and brands blur them deliberately. The immediate effect - a visible change in contour after a session, lasting hours to a couple of days - is real and nobody disputes it. The cumulative claim, that sixty days of sessions produce change that persists between them, is plausible, under-evidenced in home use, and the reason the protocol exists at all.
The MINI+ is the device most likely to get you through that protocol, because it is small, quick and not precious. That is a genuine argument in its favor and it is the one we would make: the best microcurrent device is the one you still use in week eight. The full results timeline, including what happens when you stop.
Counter-case
Who should not buy it
- Anyone whose main concern is skin quality rather than contour. Tone, texture and redness are not muscle. An LED mask is the tool for that, and the two stack well - microcurrent for tone, light for the skin itself.
- Anyone who already knows they want the eye and lip head. Buy the TRINITY+ and skip the intermediate purchase.
- Anyone with a pacemaker or other implanted electrical device, or who is pregnant. Read the contraindications first - they are absolute, not cautious.
- Anyone expecting a permanent change. Muscle tone reverts when stimulation stops, in the face as everywhere else.
If you want the whole field ranked rather than one device examined, the microcurrent roundup is the page to read next. If you are weighing microcurrent against light therapy as a first purchase, we compare the two mechanisms directly.

Availability
The MINI+ Starter Kit was listed and purchasable on NuFACE's own store when we checked, in six colorways, at the entry tier of the brand's device range - well below the TRINITY+ sets. Third-party retail is patchier: several US stockists were showing the holiday gift bundles as sold out or coming soon on the same day. The device itself is current, not discontinued.
