Head to head
TriPollar STOP VX2 vs CurrentBody Skin RF
A specialist RF manufacturer against an LED brand's RF device. Both are properly cleared; only one tells you what temperature it is trying to reach.

Specification
The temperature gap is the real difference
We keep coming back to this because it is the one number that governs whether RF does anything. Collagen responds to sustained heat in a narrow band; too cool achieves nothing.
TriPollar publishes its target and measures against it. CurrentBody publishes neither, which means the only feedback is how warm the device feels. That is the same problem the LED category has with irradiance, and it is notable that CurrentBody is the brand at the center of both gaps.
Regulation
Both clearances are genuine
K232424, cleared 6 March 2024 under El Global Trade Ltd., product code PAY - the correct code for a non-invasive RF skin device. That is a real, current record and CurrentBody deserves credit for it, particularly given that its LED mask clearances are also locatable.
Pollogen's STOP U family holds K220322 and K203665 in the same code, from a manufacturer with a professional clinic systems business behind it. Both are properly regulated; neither is the gamble.
CurrentBody's case
The ecozystem argument, assessed fairly
If you already own a CurrentBody LED mask, adding the brand's RF device means one app, one support relationship, one set of instructions and a routine the company has thought about as a whole.
That is a legitimate benefit and we are not going to dismiss it as mere lock-in. The layering guide exists precisely because combining devices from different brands requires you to work out the order yourself.
Before buying both
The overlap nobody flags
The TriPollar's Dynamic Muscle Activation is a muscle-stimulation layer. If you were planning to buy a TriPollar and a microcurrent device, there is genuine functional overlap and you should at least know that before spending twice. The CurrentBody RF has no muscle layer, so it stacks more cleanly alongside a NuFACE or ZIIP.

FDA clearance located
Pollogen's STOP U (model UXV) line holds 510(k) K220322 (4 May 2023) and K203665 (25 February 2021), product code PAY - RF device for non-invasive skin treatment.
What works
- Located clearances from a manufacturer that also builds professional clinic systems
- Publishes its target skin temperature, which is the number that actually governs RF outcomes
- Muscle activation is a real second mechanism, not a mode name
What does not
- 15-20 minutes for a full face is the longest routine on this site
- Needs a dedicated RF gel every session
- The clearance records are for the STOP U line, not the VX2 name specifically

FDA clearance located
510(k) K232424 (CurrentBody Skin RF, cleared 6 March 2024, applicant El Global Trade Ltd., product code PAY).
What works
- A located, recent clearance under the correct RF product code
- Pairs naturally with the brand's LED masks
- Simpler to operate than the TriPollar devices
What does not
- No published target temperature, which is the governing RF variable
- No muscle-activation mechanism
- Shorter track record than Pollogen or EndyMed
Specifications from FDA 510(k) K232424, checked 13 October 2026.
The decision
Which to buy
- TriPollar STOP VX2 if you want published thermal control, a second mechanism, and a specialist manufacturer.
- CurrentBody Skin RF if you already own the brand's mask, want simplicity, or know that a twenty-minute routine will not survive your week.
- Neither if your complaint is muscle tone rather than dermal laxity. That is microcurrent.
